Ansu Fati’s father, Bori Fati, met with Barcelona directors Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany. The discussions were said to have lasted almost an hour.

Concern about La Masia graduate’s limited game time was the topic of discussion between Bori Fati and Alemany

According to Gerard Romero’s report, Ansu Fati’s father Bori Fati met with Barcelona officials today for nearly an hour.
Given that the 20-year-old has not been a regular this season and the Catalans need to sell players during the summer, the meeting raised speculation that the youngster’s future was discussed. The purpose of the meeting was to talk about Fati’s role in the team and his future at the club. The winger is relegated to the bench mostly in this season and is currently behind Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, and Gavi in the pecking order

However, Helena Condis has come up with a fresh update on the matter, stating that the meeting took place because Ansu Fati’s father had concerns about his limited game time this season and that the topic of a summer exit was not touched.
While Fati has played 38 times across all competitions this term. Only 11 have been from the start, with Xavi not putting his total faith in the 20-year-old forward.
Foremostly, Fati wasn’t called up by new Spain manager Fuente for the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
Naturally, the player’s entourage has some concerns. His father met with Alemany and Cruyff to relay the same during today’s meeting.

Alemany’s assurance while talking to Bori Fati

According to the report, Alemany told the youngster’s father that Barcelona still believes in him. The lack of game time is due to a technical decision made by manager Xavi Hernandez.

In 2021, Fati signed a new contract with Barcelona, committing his future to the club until the summer of 2027.

“Barça will not sell Ansu Fati, but if Jorge Mendes comes in with a good offer and the player wants to leave, they will consider it. Despite the fact that Fati’s father has informed the club that he wishes to remain at Barcelona.”

Further, the reliable Victor Navarro also spoke on Romero’s stream. He reported that Bori Fati and the forward’s agent Jorge Mendes want Ansu to leave the club in the summer.

Joan Laporta might sell the La Masia graduate if a good offer arrives despite rejecting the idea initially,

Barcelona are desperately looking to reduce their wage bill

Barcelona is desperate to reduce their wage bill this summer in order to make room for new signings and to register existing contracts. While they will obviously try to sell surplus players, the club may also be forced to part ways with assets that are either already critical or will be in the future. This list includes, and most likely begins with, Fati, who has been in poor form. Ferran Torres is also on the list, and Eric Garcia should not be overlooked.

While the summer exit has not been discussed at today’s meeting,His agent, Jorge Mendes, is said to have already made offers to Premier League clubs.

In the event that his situation does not improve, Barcelona, too, may consider sanctioning a sale, given their desperate need for revenue.

According to transfermarkt, FATI’S NEW MARKET VALUE is €35M, down from €80M(2020).
