Thomas tuchel is keen to return to the Premier League following his pending Bayern Munich departure.
Thomas Tuchel is expected to leave the German outfit this summer. He eyes the potentially vacant Manchester United job as a viable option according to Fabrizio Romano.
It was announced back in February by Bayern Munich that Tuchel would step down as the manager at the end of the season. Their stance hasn’t changed since then.
Thomas Tuchel would love to manage United next season
After Todd Boehly’s takeover of Chelsea, it wasn’t long before Tuchel was sacked. His departure was somewhat premature. And Fabrizio claims the German feels he has unfinished business in the Premier League.
In his Daily Briefing on Thursday, Romano wrote:
“There is no change on Thomas Tuchel as he’s expected to leave Bayern.
“We’re seeing him linked with clubs in England, but again there’s nothing concrete or advanced at this point.
“Still, for sure Tuchel would be more than happy to coach Man United even if they’re without elite European football – he would be really open to returning to England in general, he loved it there. So, it depends on the clubs, but he would be really open to that possibility of managing again in the Premier League.”
However there is no guarantee that Erik ten Hag’s time at the club is over. But his departure looks increasingly likely with United heading for their worst finish in Premier League history.
Ten Hag has been on trial towards the end of the current season with Ineos chiefs keeping tabs on him. Things have not gone well for the Dutchman despite him leading the club to back-to-back FA Cup finals. Also they can still clinch silverware this year.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe seems determined for a fresh start. With a managerial change likely to be the main focus. As well as monitoring Tuchel’s situation, the club have reportedly opened talks to appoint Gareth Southgate ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Manchester United are still one of the biggest clubs in the world. Although the recent years have been tough for them, still they haven’t lost their pull. They can attract any big Manager or player despite their current position.
Ineos will take into account all the factors before making a decision on the managerial position. With new people in charge of the footballing operations things will take a big turn for United.
Out of all candidates it seems like the current favourite is Thomas Tuchel. But with United you never know.
