Tottenham is now relieved as Son Heung-Min finally found form

Son Heung-Min

Tottenham Hotspur has started the season really well under the tutelage of Antonio Conte. Spurs have performed well domestically and sit on 3rd spot currently. However, the club was concerned about the form of Son Heung-Min for the first part of the season. Recently, the Korean forward has been able to score and assist which has brought the club relief.

Manager, Antonio Conte always maintained that he is not concerned with the form of the forward. The Italian tactician always said that the South Korean international is an experienced top player and will bounce back with time. However, the fans and players were concerned because the goalscoring burden fell on Harry Kane predominantly.

Richarlison stepped up to a large extent, but Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane make a different kind of pair. The change of fortunes for the forward means that he has now achieved a new record. The South Korean has now eclipsed Jermaine Defoe and become Spurs’ second-highest European goal scorer after just behind Harry Kane.

Son Heung-Min is a pivotal part of how Tottenham play

Tottenham Hotspur have adapted well to the tactics of Antonio Conte and the South Korean international is crucial to the system. Similar to what the Italian did with Chelsea, Tottenham plays with a target man and two runners beside him.

Harry Kane performs the role of the target man, meanwhile, Son Heung-Min and Richarlison/Dejan Kulusevski play as the runners. Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, and Pedro/Willian performed similar roles at Chelsea during the tenure of Antonio Conte. The Korean is what Eden Hazard was to that Chelsea team. He offers the constant threat alongside Harry Kane and the other winger or in-forward helps in transitions during the match.

Antonio Conte and Tottenham cannot afford to lose the South Korean as he is a very key player. The Manager and club will hope the forward can combine well with Harry Kane again and power Tottenham Hotspur to a possible trophy this season!!
