Villa looking to become a threat at the top of the table next season

Aston Villa

Aston Villa have seen a new era begin under Emery. Villa sit comfortably fourth after a 2-2 draw against Chelsea. Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, has extended his contract through 2027. Since assuming leadership of the Premier League team last season, Emery has overseen an amazing turnaround. The team was on the verge of relegation when he joined. This demonstrates the goal of Villa and the club administration. Transfer insider Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that the internal agreement is set to lead to’very impressive signings’ coming to the club this summer. Their ambitions last season were expressed through a major sign. They got Moussa Diaby to replace Jack Grealish for £51.9 million. Now that Emery has decided to stay, they will look to make even more statement signings. Emery has attracted interest from Munich. With Thomas Tuchel leaving, they were looking at Emery to replease him. However, Emery has made it clear what his plans are.

There have been reports of Emery wanting Spanish talented winger Nico Williams at the club next season. They are sure to face a challenge from other clubs looking for the Spaniard’s signature. Although it will be a task and a half, Villa is set to go for it.

Dean Jones on Villa plans for the summer

Jones believes that Emery extending his contract shows Villas intent. They will look to make big transfers, and rightly so. They are most likely to secure a top-four spot. Champions League nights at Villa Park will require some bigger names on their team sheet.

Dean Jones said ina recent interview,

“It is huge for Villa to tie Unai Emery to a new deal because it puts them at an early advantage over their top four rivals for next season and gives them a chance to cement their status as a team that is in that Champions League conversation.

“We are in a time when Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea are changing managers or considering it, and the continuity of this season could really give Villa an advantage.

“Emery could even have become a top option for big clubs to recruit, so that is another reason this is a good win. This is a big moment as it means forward planning for next season becomes much easier, and transfer targets are also sold to the club in a very clear fashion for next season.

“I am expecting Villa to follow this up with big news in the summer. I have a feeling they will make a couple of very impressive signings.”
