Following his success with Athletico Paranaense in Brazil, Vitor Roque is in great demand in Europe. Barcelona is one of the most major clubs keen in signing the 18-year-old striker. In addition Arsenal and Chelsea have also shown interest in him . Barça considers Roque as the best option to fill in for and compete with Robert Lewandowski in the centre forward position before finally taking over as the primary striker. Thus, they have been attempting to reach an agreement with his club on a transfer. However due to the Financial Fair Play scenario, things have not moved quickly enough.

According to Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona and Athletico Paranaense have reached an agreement in principle to sign Vitor Roque. According to the Catalan daily newspaper, the two clubs came to an agreement on a deal worth a fixed €35 million plus additional €10 million in variables such as goals scored. The Brazilian wonderkid is keen to join Barca
Vitor Roque is aware of Premier League clubs’ interest in him, as they have far greater financial power than Barça and can offer him a higher fee as well as a more lucrative contract. According to the source, the 18-year-old Brazilian international is rejecting all Premier League offers in order to join Barcelona in the summer.
Roque has already scored 10 goals in 25 games for his club in 2023. Moreover He made his first senior international appearance for Brazil in March. As a result, Barcelona is unlikely to let him go out of their hands. Barcelona, which is still struggling financially, is attempting to spread out payments as instalments. Hence there continues to be optimism that a deal may be reached next week.
