Arsenal and Aston Villa are two clubs interested in Barcelona winger Ferran Torres. Torres, an ex-Manchester City player. He has been a regular for Barcelona this season but could be transferred this summer as the Spanish giants strive to generate funds to re-sign Lionel Messi.

Arsenal and Astron Villa eye Barca winger

The 23-year-old has been an asset for Barcelona in 2022-23, appearing in 41 games across all competitions and producing seven goals and two assists. The Blaugrana are now fovourites to win another La Liga title this season. Torres has four years left on his contract at Camp Nou after signing a long-term deal with the Catalan club following his January 2022 transfer from Manchester City. His future is now uncertain at Barca . Since Barcelona is under pressure to sell first-team players during the upcoming transfer window owing to financial concerns.

A number of Premier League clubs are on high alert, with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta a long-time admirer. The anticipated appointment of Mateu Alemany as Barcelona’s director of football is also likely to bring Villa into the picture. The arrival of Alemany at Villa is a strong indication that the club’s ambitious owners intend to back manager Unai Emery in the summer window. Villa are also in advanced talks with top scorer Ollie Watkins about re-signing the England international.

Ferran Torres could land into Premier League again

Before joining Man City in August 2020, the Spain international began his professional career with Valencia. Torres played 97 times in all competitions for Valencia. Torres appeared 43 times for Pep Guardiola’s team, scoring 16 goals and providing four assists before returning to Barcelona at the start of 2022.
Arsenal is currently competing for the Premier League crown with Manchester City. Arsenal FC might sign new forward during the upcoming transfer window. Torres’ versatility would make him an excellent acquisition to the Gunners, but Villa appears to be a dangerous opponent. Unai Emery’s team has won eight of their previous eleven league games. Villa is in eighth place of the table, one point behind sixth-placed Brighton.

Torres has struggled to find regular starting spots for Barcelona in recent games with 16 of his 29 league games coming off the bench. Hence Barcelona winger Ferran Torres’s future at Barca is in doubt.
