Atletico Madrid are reportedly passionate about signing Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur. After Thomas Partey left for Arsenal a void needs to be filled in the Atletico Midfield.
Winks has made just ten appearances in the Premier League and 24 appearances across all competitions. It has been a difficult season for the 25-year-old defensive midfielder at the London club under new coach, Jose Mourinho.
Los Rojiblancos have previously signed a Spurs player in the form of Kieran Trippier and the club might be the perfect option for Winks. His contract expires after three years, however, he is available at a cheaper rate.
A move to Atletico would be a dream coming true for Harry Winks!
Harry Winks had made 167 appearances for the Lilywhites scoring four goals. Also, he has been one of the favourite players to feature for Gareth Southgate led English national team. However, his lack of playing time under Mourinho is concerning.

He’s finding himself out of Tottenham’s team. So, that’s an interesting challenge as well but I couldn’t be happier with what he’s done in Bulgaria and again tonight.” – Gareth Southgate on Winks’ performance.
As per Daily Mail, Atletico Madrid are leading the race to sign him for a reported fee of around £20 million. Additionally, he had been dreaming to play in the La Liga and former Spurs tactician Mauricio Pochettino believes that he will cherish in Spain.
“Today I think he is one of the most aggressive players on the pitch when his characteristics when he keeps the ball, how he plays, with the ball he is very aggressive, breaking lines, keeping possession, always thinking forwards.” – Mauricio Pochettino.
Currently, clubs like Valencia, Sevilla, and Everton are also attracted by the quality of the youngster. However, the current head coach doesn’t want to let go of one of their key midfielders. However, the club is ready to listen to the offers.
