Barcelona determined to get Bayern Munich fullback Benjamin Pavard

Julian Araujo

Barcelona’s hunger for a new right-back is nothing new and they finally want to strengthen their key position. They are currently looking for options for right-backs as they want to strengthen their defence and also get an attacking threat from the flanks. Latest reports say Barcelona is currently eyeing for Benjamin Pavard in hopes of finally getting a proper right back.

Barcelona has been looking for multiple options all this time including Diogo Dalot and Josip Juranovic. But as Pavard is heavily tipped to leave Bayern, Barcelona might go all out for the Frenchman. Pavard has an incredible track record with his French national team and is one of the pioneers of the 2018 World Cup campaign.

Even though his abundant experience with the Bavarians, he has always struggled with his form and consistency. His struggles further continued in the World Cup as he lost his place to Barcelona’s Joules Kounde in the national squad.

BARCELONA’S QUEST IN GETTING BENJAMIN PAVARD

Pavard’s ongoing struggles with form and consistency might lead Bayern to let him leave in the next transfer window. Bayern Munich has already bagged in the talented Noussair Mazraoui last summer. Bayern Munich manager Nagelsmann might even look for further options in the market to replace Pavard.

Since the chances of Pavard leaving the Bavarians look higher, Barcelona will try to bag him soon. The French international also wants to leave the German side which will make it easier for the Catalans in signing him. The French right-back currently has a contract with Bayern till 2024. But it will prove difficult for Barcelona to buy Benjamin Pavard this winter because of their ongoing financial issues. A summer transfer to Nou Camp seems more plausible.

Barcelona is currently leading the league table and will surely hope to strengthen their weak spots to retain their current position.
