Italian giants AC Milan ready to go for RB Leipzig’s Sabitzer

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan have set their eyes on Marcel Sabitzer. The club feels he is the perfect replacement to Hakan Calhanoglu. They view him as an ideal attacking midfielder who will gel with the current Milan squad. Stephano Pioli believes that Sabitzer will perfectly suit his style of play.

The Austrian midfielder had a really good season at RB Leipzig. He scored 8 goals and created 3 others as Leipzig finished 2nd in the Bundesliga. His strength is his long-range shooting ability. He takes a shot from fully 30 yards- 40 yards out which sting the palms of the goalkeeper.

Milan’s biggest boost with Calhanoglu was his long range shooting ability. He was also an efficient passer. AC Milan want to increase the depth of their attack next season and Sabitzer’s ability to play multiple position will help them too.

Sabitzer will fit into the Milan squad

Having played with Leipzig under Julian Nagelsmann, Sabitzer is not a stranger to changing tactics. Leipzig are known for playing different formations every game with different approaches. This assures Milan won’t have a player who faces first-season struggles like most players.

Milan are planning to make at least 6-7 signings this window. An attacking midfielder is one of their top priorities. Isco from Real Madrid and Josip Ilicic from Atalanta are other players in the mix who could be signed.

The deal might go through

Milan want to make many signings this summer and it would not be wise to spend more than €25 million on each signing. Mikkel Damsgaard is another player Milan are interested in. The interest would have only increased by ten-fold after watching his free-kick against England yesterday.

Milan’s board feels that Sabitzer’s price it ‘attainable’. He has another year left on his contract and Milan can get him for less than €20 million if they play they play their cards right.
