Liverpool seriously considering to make a move for Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane

Liverpool has been consistently in a link with German international Leroy Sane. And recent reports have added an interesting dimension to the situation. Meanwhile, Sky Germany disclosed earlier this month that Bayern Munich is expressing concern about Liverpool’s interest in their playmaker.

In more recent developments, a well-known Bundesliga journalist, Christian Falk, who serves as the Head of Football for the renowned German media outlet Bild/Sport Bild, has asserted that Liverpool is actively pursuing the signing of Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich. Falk shared this information with the media regarding the ongoing situation.

Christian Falk said:

“Liverpool’s interest in Leroy Sane is concrete. You can compare him to the man he might end up replacing at Anfield in Mo Salah. They both have speed and Sane is certainly younger.”

“Bayern Munich are aware of the interest and after the international break they will meet the agents, LIAN Sports Group, to talk about an extension.”

Can Leroy Sane succesfully replace Salah in Liverpool if the deal happens?

The winger has a value of £43 million, and his existing contract at the Allianz is to expire in 2025. Meanwhile, he has been showcasing impressive form. Thus, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists in all competitions this season. Given his performances, there is an argument that he deserves a new contract.

Last night, Leroy Sane played for the entirety of the match. Since, Thomas Tuchel’s team secured a 1-0 victory against FC Koln. Thus, propelling them to the top of the Bundesliga, at least temporarily.

Mohamed Salah has been nothing short of sensational for Liverpool, maintaining world-class form even this season. Today, the Reds will face off against the Premier League champions, Manchester City, and the Egyptian superstar is one of the players who can significantly impact the outcome of the contest.

Sane is 27, while Salah is 31. In the near future, Jurgen Klopp may need to find a successor for the Egyptian winger. Will Sane be capable enough to fill Salah’s role on the right flank at Anfield remains a big question.
