Manchester City seems to have identified their Sergio Aguero replacement as they want to strengthen their attack. According to the Bild, City has made enquiries about the availability of Andre Silva of Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.
Andre Silva had an impressive season with Frankfurt, finishing second in the Bundesliga top scorer list. He is gathering interest from top clubs across Europe including the likes of Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid.
Frankfurt missed out on Champions League qualification but managed to book the Europa League spot. The club however will find it difficult to keep hold of their Portuguese goal scorer. Valued around £35 million, Silva is currently with his national squad preparing for their EURO 2020 matches.

Andre Silva has been amazing for Frankfurt ever since his move from AC Milan. In this season, he scored 28 goals from 32 appearances in Bundesliga, finishing second in the top scorer list. By scoring 28 he also broke the record for the most goals scored in a single season of Bundesliga by a player of Frankfurt.
A strong presence, Andre Silva likes to lay off balls for his attacking partners. A good passer and strong finisher, the Portuguese was vital in pushing his team towards the 5th place finish. He is contracted with Frankfurt till the summer of 2023 and Frankfurt will not be in a rush to sell him.
The 25-year-old has also been impressive for his nation. He has played 38 times for Portugal and has scored 16 goals. Included in the EURO 2020 squad, Silva can attract more suitors for him with a good performance on the international stage. For Frankfurt, a good performance by Silva for Portugal can help in pushing his price further.
MANCHESTER CLUBS TO BATTLE FOR ANDRE SILVA
Manchester City has played this season mostly without any centre-forward. Sergio Aguero struggled with injuries and fitness while Gabriel Jesus never seems to gain the full confidence of Pep Guardiola. With their legendary forward Aguero moving to Barcelona, they do require a good goal-scoring number 9 in their lineup.
City has been heavily linked with a move for Harry Kane and Erling Haaland. However, both the players will come with a very heavy price tag. As a result, the club is now looking at the possibility of bringing Andre Silva to Manchester, as he offers a cheaper solution. After defeat to Chelsea in the final, City seems to have lost an excellent chance to secure the Champions League trophy, and bringing in a centre-forward will be top in the priority list this summer.
However, bringing in Andre Silva will not be easy. The Portuguese centre-forward is linked with multiple clubs including their rivals Manchester United. La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 25-year-old. A strong performance in the EURO 2020 by Silva could lead to a race between the top clubs for his signature.
