Erling Haaland will be a man in demand this summer, but Manchester United could find themselves priced out of a move for the striker
Manchester United face the prospect of losing out to the striker. The Borussia Dortmund star is likely to be the target of a bidding war this summer. Haaland has a release clause that will come into effect next summer. Manchester United had a long-term interest in the forward and felt they had him before he moved to Dortmund.
However, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are all now involved and could make a move this summer. In the current economic climate, the Red Devils might struggle to compete financially with their Premier League rivals.
Manchester United and their history with Haaland’ agent
Manchester United continue to have problems with Mino Raiola. The Italian represents Paul Pogba and was vocal in his desire to get the Frenchman out of Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson has also voiced his opinion on the Agent in the past.
“Paul Pogba? He just had a bad agent, a sh*t bag.” – Sir Alex Ferguson on Mino Raiola
The parts fall into position on the blue half of Manchester, with their financial power, which ensures that the agreement is more than workable. Haaland is currently being seen as a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who has been the club’s main striker for ten years. Aguero is out of the deal this summer.
He could be passed on on a free transfer out of the Etihad, and there were questions about Gabriel Jesus. As a result, City is looking to invest in a striker who can be a leading light for years to come, such is their interest in Haaland.
It is yet to be seen where Haaland ends up, however, the current circus around his summer destination is just as exciting as his current season with BVB.
