A torrid start for Ramirez

Odisha FC, led by Kiko Ramirez, began their ISL 2021-22 season fairly well. They managed to pick up wins in their opening 2 matches against Bengaluru FC and SC East Bengal. The Kalinga Warriors boasted a pristine style of attacking football in both games, but since then have only been able to win 2 more matches.

On December 24, they locked horns with FC Goa and had to settle for a draw. The rest of the 5 matches after ended in defeats. Losses to Jamshedpur FC (0-4) and Hyderabad FC (1-6) were heftier than others.

However, the Juggernauts seemingly looked to be on their way back following a 4-2 win against champions Mumbai City FC. Nonetheless, they picked up another 0-2 defeat to against Kerala Blasters FC on January 12. This proved to the final nail in the Spaniard’s coffin with the club announcing his dismissal after 2 days.
