Rahim Ali is a forward who has been making name for himself not only in the Indian Super League but also in the national team. The 22-year-old player has proved himself as a key player for Chennaiyin FC.

Rahim was born in Barrackpore on January 4, 2000, in West Bengal, a region known for its rich heritage in football. From a young age, he had a natural talent for the sport, kicking a ball around the streets with his friends and dreaming of becoming a professional footballer. His journey into the world of football began when he joined a local academy, where his talent caught the attention of coaches.
Playing style
His playing style is characterized by his pace, agility and game reading. As a striker, his ability to read the game and find space in the opposition’s defense sets him apart from other players. His ball control, dribbling skills, and box-to-box play have also earned him praise from fans and football pundits.
Ali was part of the AIFF Elite Academy batch that was preparing for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup. After the tournament, Ali was selected to play for Indian Arrows. The team would consist of U-20 Indian players to give them playing time. He made his professional debut for the side against Chennai City. He came on as a 73rd-minute substitute in the game where the team won 3-0.
On 31 May 2019, Rahim Ali signed with Chennaiyin FC for the 2019-20 Indian Super League. He has a contract with the club till 31 May, 2024.
International career
Ali represented the U-17 Indian side which participated in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by India. Ali made his senior international debut against Nepal in an international friendly which ended in a 1–1 draw. Later he participated in the 2021 SAFF Championship in which they emerged as champions. Overall, he has 12 appearances for the senior team and failing to find the net in any of them.
