PSG are keen on bringing Paul Pogba to Paris this window. Pogba has not made up his mind on whether he wants to stay or leave Old Trafford. His situation was a subject to lots of debates during the season but right now the dust seems to have settled down. Juventus have been trying to sign Pogba since last season and will give a good fight considering their midfield needs to reboot.
Paul Pogba had an average season with the Red Devils. He scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 32 appearances, far from his best. It was an improvement from the previous season which he missed large parts of due to an ankle injury. Being the clubs most expensive player comes with it’s set of expectations. Pogba has not done enough to satisfy but enough to keep him in the plans of the club.
PSG are having a blast this transfer window. Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georgino Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, at this point PSG’s board are just name-dropping stars. Neymar Jr and Julian Draxler have extended their contracts which means Mauricio Pochettino will be having a star-studded line-up next season.
Pogba’s transfer situation
Juventus were keen on signing Pogba last window. They were ready to give Cristiano Ronaldo as a part of a possible swap deal. Manchester United were tempted by the offer but Ole Gunnar Solksjaer wanted Paul Pogba to stay. United have a good attacking line-up but lose the midfield battle to most teams. Scott McTominay and Fred have put out impressive performances but Paul Pogba has the creativity that cannot be matched by either one of them.
How could PSG get Pogba?
The very fact that it’s PSG, a club based out of Paris, would be an attraction enough for Pogba. Pogba turns into a beast when he plays for France, something he does not replicate at the club level consistently.
The Ligue 1 is a much slower league compared to the pacey Premier League. The move would surely benefit him but will his loyalty to Manchester United come in the way.
