Real Madrid looking to sign Kieran Tierney

Real Madrid are in the market for a new full-back and Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney is on their radar. They could launch a £50 bid for him. They want to replace Marcelo who could leave in the summer. Reportedly, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti is a huge admirer of Tierney.

Tierney and his rise.

Tierney has been an integral part of Arsenals’s recent revival under Mikel Arteta, putting in a number of consistent performances. Moreover, he has also played a crucial role for his National side. He has also formed a formidable partnership with Scottish Captain and Liverpool player Andrew Robertson. Tierney also scored a header in their recent friendly match against Poland.

Tierney has made 87 appearances for the Gunners since signing from Celtic in 2019. The fullback was signed from the Scottish giants for a fee reported at £25 million. Moreover, he was wanted by Ancelloti when he was Napoli’s manager.

Tierney will be a long-term replacement for Brazilian fullback Marcelo. The current Madrid Captain is also tipped to leave Los Blancos by the end of the season. Mikel Arteta has already signed Nuno Tavares last season and Tierney has looked jaded at times this season. So suitors are hoping the north Londoners will accept their offer for the Scottish international.

But they will not accept a low bid for Scottish International. Tierney is valued at around £28m by Transfermarkt and the Gunners will expect at least double his market price. The fullback has not yet agreed on a contract extension. And ff he departs, Arsenal will lose one of the good leaders of their squad.

With the future of current Arsenal Captain Alexandre Lacazette uncertain, Arteta will be looking for other options for captaincy. And he can promote Tierney as the captain to convince him to stay in North London next season.
