Ronaldo offered to Napoli by Mendes

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Cristiano Ronaldo is the name on everyone’s lips at the moment. The Portuguese forward is looking for a way out of Old Trafford as he no longer intends to play for the Red Devils. The reason is simple: Manchester United did not qualify for the Champions League this season. It will be a disrespect for the greatest UCL player of all time to not be in the UCL. This meant that Ronaldo would be open to moving to other clubs this summer. It has been a topic of debate since the start but still, no solution has come through.

Chelsea were the first ones that were offered the chance to sign Ronaldo. As brilliant as it sounded, Tuchel was not letting someone with the stature of Ronaldo come in and be the main man. Joan Laporta’s relationship with Mendes meant that Ronaldo to Barcelona was a possibility. But again, Barcelona had no intention to bring Ronaldo in and rejected the 5 time UCL champion. The likes of Atletico Madrid, Marseille, and PSG were also discussed as potential destinations for the 37-year-old but to no use.

Now, Mendes sees Napoli as a club where his player can be the main man. Napoli are also in the Champions League which would make things easier for Ronaldo. Napoli’s director has also confirmed that they would love to have someone like Ronaldo but at the moment there is not anything. This move would be somewhat of a controversial one, with Ronaldo having played in Serie A for Juventus. But Champions League football is what the man demands and so far, most clubs have turned down the chance to sign him.

Are Manchester United without Ronaldo?

Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who is admired by Ten Hag. The Premier League has kicked off and Cristiano has found himself on the bench for 2 games. Coincidentally, Manchester United lost the 2 games when he started. They won the 2 games when the Portuguese was on the bench. It is something to notice because how can a player with 800+ goals be a problem? But Eric Ten Hag is a different manager.

Manchester United defeated Liverpool in convincing fashion at Old Trafford. The team looked hungry with the young player upfront, winning all duels and second balls. It looked like this team has a future under this manager and good things are still to come. With the young potential the team has, Ronaldo can either accept a bench role or be a leader for the youngsters. However, the Portuguese might just move away from European football.
