Bengaluru FC defeated Jamshedpur FC in the Hero Super Cup semifinals, with Rane and Chhetri scoring

Jamshedpur FC fought hard against Bengaluru FC in the Hero Super Cup, but were defeated 2-0 at the EMS Corporation Stadium. Bengaluru FC qualified for the finals after defeating the Men of Steel in a tough encounter.

Jamshedpur missed a golden opportunity to grab an early lead in the game. A rebound from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ saved shot went at the feet of Daniel Chima Chukwu, who tried to nudge it in, but Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made another save to prevent the Men of Steel from grabbing the lead.

Despite a few near calls, neither end of the pitch scored in the opening 30 minutes of the game. A competitive opening 45 minutes ended in a stalemate, with neither team breaking the deadlock despite producing many chances.

The second half saw both teams charging at each other from the start, hoping to gain an advantage over the other in the first few minutes.

Bengaluru FC took the lead just as the game reached the one-hour mark. A lob into the Jamshedpur box rebounded off a defender, prompting Jayesh Rane to rise to the moment and head it into the net.

Jamshedpur FC launched a barrage of attempts, but the Blues’ defence remained tight enough to keep their advantage intact. As the game entered the last ten minutes, Bengaluru FC increased their advantage when Sunil Chettri smashed home a rebound after TP Rehenesh’s save.

Jamshedpur FC manager Aidy Boothroyd made a couple of tactical adjustments to try to get back into the game, but the Men of Steel were unable to score.

Jamshedpur FC left the Hero Super Cup with their heads held high after finishing as the highest scorers in the group stage and the only side to win the competition with a perfect nine points out of nine.
