Aser Pierrick Dipanda Dicka joins Delhi FC

Delhi FC got promotion from the I-League Second Division for the upcoming I-League season. Following their comeback to the I-League, they are making a competitive team to fight for the title. Delhi FC signed 34-year-old Cameroonian striker Dipanda Dicka for the upcoming season.

Player Profile: Dipanda Dicka:

Dipanda Dicka started his youth career at Spanish club Valencia CF. He spent his initial career at several Spanish clubs like Valencia B, La Roda, Olimpic de Xativa, and Alzira. Later in 2016, the experienced striker moved to India and joined I-League side DSK Shivajians.

Later, the 5.7-foot striker played for several I-League clubs like Shillong Lajong, Mohammedan SC, Mohun Bagan, Punjab FC, Real Kashmir, and Aizawl FC. He has played in 100 I-League games. Dicka is excellent in positioning, finishing, short passing, dribbling, and aerial duels.

Dipanda Dicka has won the Best Striker of the Hero I-League award in 2016–17 and 2017–18.

Career Stats: Dipanda Dicka:

Dipanda Dicka has scored 58 goals in his 100 I-League appearances. He scored seven goals for DSK Shivajians, 11 goals for Shillong Lajong, and 12 goals for Mohammedan SC. Playing for Mohun Bagan, Dicka scored 25 goals in 38 appearances and became one of the fan favorites for the Mariners.

Dipanda Dicka scored four goals in his three Hero Super Cup appearances. Besides, he also has 33 Segunda Division B appearances. In his entire career, Dicka has scored 66 goals in 145 matches.

Delhi FC may emerge as a dark horse:

Ahead of their new campaign, Delhi FC has been busy in the transfer market. Delhi FC signed Naorem Tondomba Singh, Vinil Poojary, Girik Khosla, Raju Gaikwad, Azharuddin Mallick, and many other familiar faces.

Besides the new arrivals, Delhi FC’s 19-year-old striker Himanshu Jangra has returned to the club after completing his loan stint with East Bengal. Delhi FC also has experienced Gurtej Singh and Balwant Singh in their squad.

Apparently, Delhi FC has managed to form a squad with a mixture of youth and experience. With this team, Delhi FC may emerge as one of the league-winning contenders for the upcoming I-League season.
