Delhi FC got promotion from the I-League Second Division for the upcoming I-League season. Following their comeback to the I-League, they are making a competitive team to fight for the title. Delhi FC signed 28-year-old young goalkeeper James Kithan for the upcoming season.
Player Profile: James Kithan:
The Nagaland-born goalkeeper began his professional career with Kolkata-based Peerless SC. Later, he joined another Kolkata-based club, Mohammedan SC, in 2016. He played in the Calcutta Football League for Kolkata-based clubs.
Ahead of the 2017-18 I-League season, James Kithan joined Churchill Brothers. Kithan, the second player from Nagaland to play in the I-League, made his I-League debut on December 2, 2017 against Shillong Lajong. He spent three seasons with the Red Machines and played 39 matches for them.
In 2021, James Kithan switched to I-League 2nd Division side Delhi FC and played only four matches for them. Later in January 2022, Kithan signed for I-League side Gokulam Kerala FC. But he did not get much game time for the Kerala-based side.
Till now, James Kithan has played 40 I-League games, in which he has kept nine clean sheets.

Ahead of their new campaign, Delhi FC has been busy in the transfer market. Delhi FC signed Naorem Tondomba Singh, Vinil Poojary, Girik Khosla, Raju Gaikwad, Azharuddin Mallick, and many other familiar faces.

Delhi FC may emerge as a dark horse:
Besides the new arrivals, Delhi FC’s 19-year-old striker Himanshu Jangra has returned to the club after completing his loan stint with East Bengal. Delhi FC also has experienced Gurtej Singh and Balwant Singh in their squad.
Apparently, Delhi FC has managed to form a squad with a mixture of youth and experience. With this team, Delhi FC may emerge as one of the league-winning contenders for the upcoming I-League season.
