Delhi FC got promotion from the I-League Second Division for the upcoming I-League season. Following their comeback to the I-League, they are making a competitive team to fight for the title. The signing of Girik Khosla has been one of the best inclusions for Delhi FC ahead of the upcoming season.
Player Profile: Girik Khosla:
Girik Khosla, the Mumbai-born attacking midfielder, started his football career with the youth setup of Mumbai FC. Later, he joined Minerva Punjab FC and made his senior team debut against DSK Shivajians in the 2016–17 I-League season. Girik Koshla also won the I-League with Minerva Punjab FC in 2017-18.
Later, in the 2018-19 season, Girik joined ISL side NorthEast United FC but only played a single match for the Highlanders. Next season, Girik returned to Punjab FC but did not get regular game-time.
Ahead of the 2020–21 season, Girik got another chance to play in the ISL. Girik had signed a contract with the Kolkata-based club but was soon rejected by their head coach, Robbie Fowler. He did not get a chance to play in the ISL.
Later, Girik went back to the I-League and played for clubs like Sreenidi Deccan FC and Real Kashmir FC.
Performance Analysis: Girik Khosla:
Till now, Girik has played 51 I-League matches in which he scored six goals and provided three assists. Playing for Punjab FC, Girik played 27 I-League games and scored five goals. Girik also played an effective role in Punjab FC’s I-League-winning season in 2017-18.
Girik also played 17 games for Real Kashmir FC and 13 games for Sreenidi Deccan FC.
The 28-year-old versatile midfielder has a good understanding of the game, excellent technique, and smart vision. Girik has the ability to control the game, provide effective forward passes, and create goal-scoring opportunities. He usually plays as an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a winger.

Ahead of their new campaign, Delhi FC has been busy in the transfer market. Delhi FC signed Naorem Tondomba Singh, Vinil Poojary, Dipanda Dicka, Raju Gaikwad, Azharuddin Mallick, and many other familiar faces.
With the latest arrivals, the Delhi FC squad is enriched by experience and leadership quality.
Besides the new arrivals, Delhi FC’s 19-year-old striker Himanshu Jangra has returned to the club after completing his loan stint with East Bengal. Delhi FC also has experienced Gurtej Singh and Balwant Singh in their squad.
Apparently, Delhi FC has managed to form a squad with a mixture of youth and experience. With this team, Delhi FC may emerge as one of the league-winning contenders for the upcoming I-League season.
