Diogo Dalot is Adamant about staying at Manchester United. The Portuguese has hinted that he wants to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place. Dalot is keen on becoming an important player for the Red Devils in the years to come. The Portuguese Right back denied all the rumours surrounding his uncertain future at the club and has assured him that he is going to stay.

The 22-year-old was on loan at AC Milan last season and has made 6 appearances for Manchester United this season. However, the Portuguese have found himself at the bench most of the time this season. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a more preferred option to start for Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s side.

According to the reports, Serie A outfit AS Roma is monitoring the situation of Diogo Dalot at Manchester United. They are planning to make a move for the Portuguese in the January transfer window. Roma Head Coach Jose Mourinho is a Fan of Dalot whom he has previously managed at United and is keen on a reunion with the Portuguese.

Meanwhile, United’s regular starter Aaron Wan-Bissaka has put up some disappointing performances this season. He has already been sent off once during a Champions League clash against Young Boys. This can open the door for Diogo Dalot as the Manchester United board can consider replacing Ole if things go from bad to worse.

The 22-year-old has said that he is enjoying the “healthy competition” at Old Trafford. He is planning on staying at Manchester United despite the ongoing transfer speculation. Although, the Red Devils are currently facing a tough time in the Premier League. Losses against Liverpool and Manchester City are a wake-up call for the club that started the season on a high note. Manchester United are winless in their last 5 Premier League fixtures.

“That is why I knew last season was massive for me. My body was feeling those changes and when I went to Milan it was perfect to balance everything and return to this season. That is why I wanted to stay here, fight for games and be an important player for the team”

he added

“I wanted to stay here and the club trusted me to stay here. My mind was completely focused on having an important role in this team. The most beautiful and healthy competition is when there are two or three for each position and you can learn from each other. I’m sure Aaron learns some things from me when I play, I learn from him. Everyone is going to be a part of it this season

Diogo Dalot only has 18 months left to run on his contract with Manchester United. He has played just three times in the Premier League during the 2021-22 campaign.
