Messi might leave PSG in the summer

PSG

Lionel Messi could leave PSG in the summer as the Argentine has not lived up to the expectations. He has scored just four goals in the Ligue 1. Messi could return to Barcelona after just one year with PSG. Moreover, manager Mauricio Pochettino could also leave at the end of the season. He guided them to the Ligue 1 title, but his side failed in the Champions League. They were beaten by Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of the competition.

Messi and PSG: A short story.

Lionel Messi moved to Paris in 2021 after failing to agree on a contract extension with Barcelona. Since joining the Ligue 1 giants his performances have proved to be underwhelming. He has assisted in 13 goals and scored just 8 goals in his 29 appearances for the club. Also, he was booed by the PSG fans for his performances and the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was left frustrated by the treatment.

PSG is looking to make several changes in the summer even after winning the Ligue 1 title this season. The main ambition of the club is to win the Champions League and they are ready to make changes in their squad to win the title. First-team players like Angel Di Maria, Leonardo Paredes, and Keylor Navas are also tipped to leave this summer.

PSG is set for an overhaul next season and manager Pochettino could also leave. And according to reports French legend, Zinedine Zidane is the favorite to replace him as the first team manager. Moreover, Lionel Messi could re-join Barcelona. Barca president Joan Laporta has also made it clear that their doors are always open for Messi. Also, Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has made clear several times that he wants to play with Messi again.

Only time will tell whether Messi will leave Paris and re-join Barca. But PSG will not let him go for a cheap price.
