Sevilla and Chelsea reportedly are considering for swap deal between Jules Kounde and Hakim Ziyech. According to reports, Chelsea have been told to include Moroccan playmaker Hakim Ziyech as part of a deal that would see them land Jules Kounde from Sevilla.
Jules Kounde’s transfer talk is not new for Sevilla as it has been there for a few months now. Kounde was initially linked with the Spanish giants Real Madrid. They were looking for a replacement for Raphael Varane in the team.
Kounde has been impressive this season for Sevilla at the back, he has made 29 appearances for Sevilla this season. His presence has helped them keep pace in the race for Champions League qualification. They are currently 4th and can win the La Liga potentially.
Jules Kounde has a release clause of £68 million in his contract which is not beyond Chelsea’s limit. Chelsea has offered their recent attacker signing Hakim Ziyech for the deal. It is believed that Sevilla might be considering the deal if they receive Ziyech and some cash.
The swap deal works well for both Chelsea and Sevilla
Chelsea would in the transfer market for defenders this time, as Chelsea is looking at defensive options. Their main backline being Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta who are at the end of their careers.
Jules Kounde is among the names that are being considered by the Blues and Thomas Tuchel. Adding a new defender has become a priority for Tuchel, as he has been using the 3-4-3 combination in the team for which he needs young and quick defenders for his back three.
Sevilla also has questions hanging over their top striker Youssef En-Nesyri who has been impressive this season. He has scored 16 goals in 31 outings and helped them stay in the title race.
Youssef En-Nesyri’s impressive performances earned the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool. They are willing to pay up to £46million for the striker which would make him Sevilla’s record club departure.
It seems Sevilla would sell the forward as they currently under a financial burden due to the pandemic. Letting En-Nesyri go would leave with poor attacking choice, but with Chelsea’s swap deal they could introduce a new attacking player Hakim Ziyech in their team.
Sevilla has been behind Ziyech from his Ajax days. However, the Moroccan star has not been such an impact for the Blues. He has made only 23 league appearances, however, Sevilla believes he could be used efficiently by Julen Lopetugi.
Overall the swap deal works well for both the teams as they both will be getting what they want most to improve in the next season.
