Juan Mata could leave Manchester United during the January Transfer window. According to reports, the Red Devils Midfielder is reportedly willing to leave the club at the beginning of 2022. The 33-year-old has struggled to break into the playing XI this season. He has only made three appearances for the Club during this season and he is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has been a loyal servant for Manchester United for more than 5 years. He has made 276 appearances in the span of 7 years scoring 51 goals and providing 47 assists in the process. Juan Mata has experienced a lot of ups and downs with the Red Devils. His contract at Old Trafford will expire during the summer of 2022. The Spanish Midfielder is reportedly eyeing a move to any club from La Liga.

The last two seasons have gone quiet for the former Chelsea Man. Juan Mata has only made 18 appearances in the previous season with only two Premier League 90-min game times. Manchester United had a Flying start to the season, but things took a Bad turn after they parted ways with Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer due to a string of Poor results.

However, with Ralf Ragnick taking over as the Manager for the end of this season, United will come out with a different approach.

Can Manchester United keep Juan Mata after failing to give enough game time to the Spaniard this season

This season is almost certain to be the last season of Juan Mata at United as he is out of contract in June. He will turn 34 in April, but he is open to a move in the January transfer window. Mata would either be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club or leave for a fee in the New Year.

Mata was a part of United in every matchday squad this season prior to the Villa defeat. According to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the Spanish attacker would be open to leaving Old Trafford. He has reported that he is likely to leave the club during the January transfer window. Luckhurst has also claimed that Mata would be available for a cheap price due to his contract situation at the club.

Mata’s contract was belatedly extended by an additional year in July after he appeared just 17 times last season. Although he spent a significant amount of time at home in Spain as his mother was seriously unwell. His mother eventually passed away in March. The Spaniard has found the back of the net 51 times and registered 47 assists in 276 appearances for Man United.
