Ez Abde pursued by Chelsea and Barcelona might release him

Ez Abde

Mundo Deportivo reports that Osasuna will look to extend the loan of Ez Abde beyond this season. It is unlikely that the Spanish team will be able to accomplish this. Chelsea has taken note of the 21-year-old Barcelona prospect’s progress.

A few years ago, Abde Ezzalzouli, better known as Ez Abde, graduated from the Hercules CF academy. Barcelona signed the Moroccan international in August 2021. Before his 20th birthday, he made his first-team debut a few times.

Barcelona signed several attackers in the two transfer windows in 2022, bringing Ez Abde’s value down. Last summer, Barcelona loaned him out to Osasuna, who signed him. With one goal and two assists in 17 appearances, the 21-year-old prospect has had a good season.

Why is Chelsea interested in Ez Abde?

As a result of Abde’s progress at El Sadar, Osasuna may extend his loan. In spite of the escalating interest in the footballer, that is unlikely to happen. Chelsea has taken notice of Ez Abde’s growth at the Spanish club.

It’s somewhat puzzling why Chelsea is interested, considering how much they have bolstered their attack. Raheem Sterling, Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Noni Madueke are among the wide attackers Todd Boehly has acquired at Stamford Bridge. The role of another winger is unclear.

An excellent striker should be Chelsea’s top priority in the summer. Recent reports claim that the Blues are negotiating a deal to sign a big-name striker. However, Ez Abde’s progress on loan at Osasuna has prompted Chelsea to consider bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Whether Barcelona will sell the 21-year-old prospect in the summer transfer window remains to be seen. Despite Chelsea’s emerging interest in Ez Abde, they could still recoup a nice sum from the sale.
