India defeats Kyrgyzstan thanks to Sibani Devi’s goal

With 10 minutes remaining, coach Priya PV made a substitution, replacing Shivani Toppo with Sulanjana and Soniba with Cindy. The approach paid off, as India was able to effectively protect its lead for the remainder of the session.

“It was a tough game, but I am very happy with the way the girls played today. That we clinched three points is a great thing. We had more chances to score, but somehow, we could not avail of those opportunities,” Priya remarked after the game.

The Indian coach is aware that the encounter against Myanmar. On April 28 (kick-off at 7.30 p.m., IST) is the virtual final to determine the group. “Well, Myanmar are a good team and we have all respect for them. But we will certainly go for three points in that match.”  she answered when asked. But we will undoubtedly try for three points in that game.”
