Julian Nagelsmann responds to Tuchel’s reproval of Germany tour to US

Nagelsmann

Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts about the national team’s journey to the United States. Thomas Tuchel criticized Germany’s transatlantic trip for two friendly matches. However, Nagelsmann weighed in with his perspective on the matter. While being cautious in his response, Nagelsmann managed to gain some favor with the fans in the process.

Tuchel said about Julian Nagelsmann and co travelling to US:

“I’m not sure it makes sense to me why Germany are playing Mexico in the USA before a European Championship. We’ve had a lot of away trips recently. The boys will come back from the national team on Thursday, get on a plane to Mainz on Friday, get on a plane to Istanbul on Monday, then we have a home match and then two more away games in Saarbrücken and Dortmund. It’s at the limit of endurance. The fixture schedule is what it is – we’ll try to make the best of it.”

How did Julian Nagelsmann react to Tuchel’s comments?

Tuchel’s concerns are indeed valid, given the current state of Bayern Munich’s squad. Which is grappling with a multitude of injuries. His criticism may come across as severe. But it’s worth noting that several countries routinely embark on such international trips during the breaks.

Julian Nagelsmann didn’t explicitly deny that the trip had a poor timing. However, he skillfully avoided alienating either fans or critics. Thus, showing his dedication to the national team and his aspirations for its success. It’s evident that Nagelsmann is on a mission and has high hopes for the team’s future.
