Raheem Sterling is Back to Troubling Defenders

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Aaron Lennon thinks Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has been on fire this season.

Out of the squad

After Gareth Southgate decided not to include Raheem Sterling in England’s most recent team, Aaron Lennon was talking about the player on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel FIVE.
Graeme Souness, a great of Liverpool, did not agree with the choice.

After the Three Lions’ loss to North Macedonia last night, they may have benefited from having a forward of the Chelsea player’s ability.
Lennon, who has a wealth of experience playing as a winger, must have been pleased with Sterling’s play thus far this season.

Redemption for Raheem Sterling

On FIVE, he said of the 28-year-old, “He’s on fire this season.” According to him, he wasn’t playing at his best and other things because of an injury last season, but this season he’s played really well.

“He’s eluding defenders once more.” He’s generating opportunities and netting goals.
The statistics support Sterling’s great dribbling this season.

For instance, the £50 million (BBC Sport) Raheem Sterling made four dribbles during Chelsea’s thrilling 4–4 tie with Manchester City, according WhoScored. On the day, only Phil Foden made more money. Kyle Walker could just not live with him in the match.

Performance for Chelsea

Above all, though, Raheem Sterling final output is beginning to get better. He has scored four goals in the Premier League this season, including the one against his old team. He only managed to score six goals the previous season.

Southgate remains doubtful for some reason, but Mauricio Pochettino has gained and Southgate has lost.

Throughout this international break, the Argentine has not had to worry about Sterling suffering an injury, and he will be available for Saturday’s trip to Newcastle.

The fact that Sterling was just kicked out of the England team will not sit well with him. But Southgate will be unable to leave him out of his squad for Euro 2024 if he continues to perform as well as he has this season.
