Juan Pedro Benali

Juan Pedro Benali Hammou is a Spanish professional football manager and executive who is also the current head coach of NorthEast United FC. Benali made his debut in 1997 with the Madrid-based club Las Rozas. Then, in 1999, he joined Atlético Madrid as a technical assistant. He has experience coaching different teams on three different continents-Europe, Asia and Africa. In 2008 his role as a head coach of the J-League side Vissel Kobe was worthy. Juan Pedro Benali head coaches the NorthEast United FC

NorthEast United FC appoints Benali as their Head coach for their upcoming season. Benali over the years have an outstanding career and coached different teams. He also told that the Northeast region is the heart of Indian Football. The coach also said he is excited to build a competitive team. The team has experienced a disappointing result in their previous seasons. They were in the bottom-half line in the last two Hero ISL seasons. The Spaniard have been keen followers of Hero ISL, an astonishing challenge and fresh project is awaiting Benali.

As a manager of RS Berkhane, Benali guided them to the African Super Cup finals in 2021. The team finished third in the league table. In 2001, he reached the semi-finals of the Arab Cup with Moroccan club SCC Mohammedia. Benali served as the CEO of Maghreb de Fes in Morocco from 2009-2011. In 2020, Benali joined Ittihad Tanger.

“After the meeting with owner John Abraham and CEO Mandar Tamhane, I felt that they are the best people I can work with in India. The project is to try to build a solid team that makes the fans trust their team and be proud. We discussed all the points and we have the same idea to make NEUFC one of the important teams in India,” Benali told in an interview.
