Bad Stint At Madrid for Eden Hazard
Hazard’s time at the Bernabeu was a nightmare after his record-breaking transfer from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. However, his tenure in the Spanish capital was nothing short of a disaster. The fact that he was considered one of the top players in the Premier League during his time with the Blues.
During his four years with Los Blancos, he would make just 76 appearances, scoring a pitiful seven goals in all competitions. A year before his contract was set to end, Real Madrid decided to let Hazard go because of his obvious underperformance.
Post-Madrid Release
Since then, Eden Hazard has been unable to sign with a new team. He has even allegedly considered giving up football entirely. Months after being released, the Belgian is now prepared to take his first steps back into football.
Hazard has committed to playing in a charity game in Calais on October 18, according to L’Equipe. The game, which will take place at the Stade de L’Epopee, will feature the attacker for Varietes Club de France.
The VCF was established in 1971 and includes some of the best football players. They compete against other teams from throughout the world in about 40 charity games each year.
New Teammates
Winners of the 1998 World Cup, Didier Deschamps, Laurent Blanc, Robert Pirès, and Christian Karembeu will be among Hazard’s teammates. Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy, two former colleagues at Lille, will also be on the pitch with him.
