Bengaluru FC, of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL), confirmed the departure of Brazilian center-back Alan Costa on Thursday. Costa leaves the Blues after two seasons. The club confirmed that the defender opted to return to his own country to be with his family after his loan period expired.

Costa joined Bengaluru FC on a two-year loan from Campeonato Brasileiro Série B club Ava Futebol Clube ahead of the Hero ISL 2021-22 season. Alan Costa appeared in 36 games for the Blues in the Hero ISL this season, making an impact on both ends of the ball with four goals and two assists.

He’s also scored some crucial goals for the club. The Brazilian scored in the final of the Durand Cup 2022, assisting his team to victory. Costa scored the game-winning goal in Benglauru FC’s first game of the Hero ISL 2022-23 season against NorthEast United FC. The Brazilian also scored in the rematch against the Highlanders, which started Bengaluru FC’s 10-match winning streak.

Costa spent the most of his professional career in Brazil before moving to India. He started his work with Ferroviária. He then played for Palmeiras, Internacional, and Coritiba. As well as loan spells at Sao Bento and Vitória, before joining Ava Futebol Clube in 2020.
