Both Arsenal and Everton are the latest clubs to be linked with former Stoke City midfielder Steven Nzonzi.

The 32-year-old Nzonzi is currently out on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais. However, Frenchmen is poised for a return to England with Arsenal and Everton interested in acquiring the services. Nzonzi has been a crucial player for Stade Rennais. Helping the French outfits to finish 3rd in Ligue 1 last season.

According to Foot Mercato, English clubs are monitoring the situation of Nzonzi. Arsenal are a long-time admirer of Steven Nzonzi. And Everton could benefit from another experienced player in their push for UEFA Champions League qualification.

REASON BEHIND ARSENAL’ INTERESTED IN NZONZI:

Stade Rennais are open to signing Nzonzi on a permanent basis, but a move to Premier League is more lucrative. AS Roma are looking to cash in on the 2018 World Cup winner. Whose contract runs out in 2022. Steven Nzonzi made his name in Premier League while playing for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.

Nzonzi plays a defensive role in central midfield. He is calm and composed in possession. And has a good passing ability. He has earned comparisons to compatriot and Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. Both in style and physical ability.

Arsenal are looking to sign an attacking midfielder in this window. However, Arsenal are monitoring Yves Bissouma from Brighton for the defensive midfield role suggesting Arsenal may find the opportunity to sign Nzonzi tempting.
