According to reports, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs that are interested in signing Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla. The two Premier League heavyweights are set to battle it out for the Sevilla striker.
Youssef En-Nesyri joined Sevilla from second division side Leganes for just £17 million in January 2020. And since then he has proven to be an instant hit at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
En-Nesyri has been the main man in the Sevilla attack as he has been in pretty good scoring form scoring 16 goals in 31 outings in La Liga. This feat has put him in the top five scorers in the league this season. However, his tally in all competitions stands at 22 in 45 games.
He has proved to be a trusted guy in his breakout season as a striker for Julen Lopetegui’s side in this season, as they are battling for the top four spot in the La Liga.
En-Nesyri’ future at Sevilla
As per reports, En-Nesyri has attracted some big clubs’ interest making him one of the hottest targets in the summer transfer window. Clubs like West Ham, Liverpool, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Borussia Dortmund are keeping an eye on the Moroccan star.
Sevilla was approached by West Ham United in the January transfer window for Youssef En-Nesyri. However, a deal could not be reached as £26million was too low for Sevilla.
However, Sevilla, are more likely to make a sale due to the financial burden of the coronavirus crisis. The La Liga club reportedly wants £46million for the player in the summer transfer window. En-Nesyri has five years left on his contract at Sevilla, but he could not agree on a new deal with the club as they aimed to raise his release clause above £60m.
Liverpool and Manchester United have become two top contenders for signing the Moroccan star in the summer transfer window. Both clubs look forward to solving the problem in their frontline for the next season.
Manchester United and Liverpool interested
According to reports, Manchester United and Liverpool could go head-to-head in the battle to sign Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be in the market for a new striker this summer, particularly if Edinson Cavani departs Old Trafford. He has been already been linked with a return to South America. Anthony Martial could also be offloaded by the club.
Liverpool could also seek to bolster their frontline ahead of next season. The Reds are set to end the current campaign empty-handed. Liverpool also seems to be in a precarious situation over the future of Roberto Firmino. As he has been linked with Atletico Madrid.
Divock Origi is also set to be offloaded by the Premier League champions in the summer transfer window. With that in mind, it is prudent for the Reds to be in the market for a striker. En-Nesyri is, therefore, a viable target for Liverpool.
