Fabrizio Romano of Daily Briefing writes that former Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos would be quite interested in a possible trade to Bayern Munich.

Due to injuries in their defence and the recent connections with Jerome Boateng. He trained with the Bavarian giants but ultimately chose not to sign. The 35-year-old is presently a free agent after his transfer to Real Betis fell through.

According to Romano, Sokratis is not currently in negotiations with Bayern, and the Bundesliga winners are content with their current roster. However, if they decide to alter their minds, Sokratis would undoubtedly jump at the chance to join them.

Romano clarified in today’s piece that “one player Bayern are not currently in talks to sign is former Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, despite what has been reported elsewhere.”

“Real Betis met with Sokratis, but the transaction fell through because the two could not come to an understanding.

“Bayern are happy with their squad and are not currently speaking with Sokratis; if they decide to change their minds, Sokratis would be very interested in moving.”

While Sokratis is most recognised in England for his time at Arsenal. Where he may not have been able to fully showcase his ability. He was also a player for Borussia Dortmund in Germany before.
