Alisher Kholmurodov, a Tajikistan defender, has joined NorthEast United FC

NorthEast United FC of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) has strengthened their defence with the acquisition of Tajikistan defender Alisher Kholmurodov. Moreover, the club announced on Friday via their social media handles.

The defender will make his first appearance outside of his home nation. He has played for four different teams in Tajikistan’s top flight. Kholmurodov started his professional career with Regar-Tadaz Tursunzoda before moving on to Kuktosh FC, FC Dushanbe, and Faykand Vose over the course of two seasons.

The 26-year-old centre-back is well-known for his flexibility in the backline. And also as Tajikistan player can play as a full-back and a central defensive midfielder. Moreover, the defender, who made 39 appearances in the Vysshaya League over two seasons, will join Aaron Evans, Romain Philippoteaux, Kule Mbombo, Wilmar Gil, and Joseba Beitia in the NorthEast United FC international contingent.

However, Kholmurodov will try to make an immediate impact with his new squad in their Hero Super Cup campaign. It will begins on April 4th in Kerala.

The defender, who has appeared for four different clubs in the Vysshaya Liga. It is the top-flight league of Tajikistan – will embark on his first stint outside his home country. Kholmurodov began his professional career at Regar-Tadaz Tursunzoda and then signed for Kuktosh FC, FC Dushanbe, and Faykand Vose in a span of two seasons.
