Amad Diallo Finally Arrives at Manchester United

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Manchester United has confirmed that Amad Diallo Traore is now officially a Red Devil. The 18-year-old Ivorian winger will be travelling to Manchester soon to start his journey in the Premier League.

The prospect was one of the signings made by United in the summer transfer window, along with Edinson Cavani, Donny Van De Beek, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri.

The agreement for his move from the Serie A side Atalanta was completed on 5th October, the transfer deadline day. But the deal could not be completed then, due to the formalities such as UK work permit and the medicals. But now all the required formalities are completed and he can join the reds once his visa request gets cleared.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE HIGHLY RATED AMAD DIALLO?

United had confirmed in a press release that the 18-year-old has signed a contract with them, that will see him stay at the club till 2025, with an option to extend it by 1-year.

The Red Devils will have to cough out £41 million for the prospect though. An initial payment of £18.7 million is said to have paid, with the remaining to be adjusted in add-ons.

He used to play for a youth team where he was really impressive. His performance attracted a lot of big clubs, and he made his move to Atalanta in 2015.

For 4 years he played in the youth division before his hard work earned him a spot in the first-team squad in the 2019-20 season. He scored his debut goal 4 minutes into the game, making him the first player born in 2002 to score in a top-flight season. After that, he also made his Champions League debut against Midtjylland last December.

His style of play is what grabbed everyone’s attention. He’s pacey, quick, and has excellent vision to change the game. The missing piece Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted. It is unsure if he’ll be directly joining the 1st team or if he will play for the U-23’s first. But wherever he plays, United are lucky enough to land a talented player.

THE BOSS IS EXCITED ON AMAD’S ARRIVAL:

The Red Devils are currently 2nd in the Premier League. They are on level points with Liverpool and with a game in hand. The youngster’s arrival will be a boost to the team’s journey to League Cup glory as they were missing a proper right-winger.

The Ivorian was under United’s radar for a long time. Since 2016, they were keeping an eye on him. After confirming his arrival, the United boss was more than excited and cannot wait to see him in action.

“As a club, we have followed Amad for several years, and, having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game.

Manchester United has such a proud history of developing young players and everything is in place to enable Amad to reach his potential here.

It will take time for him to adapt, but his speed, vision and fantastic dribbling ability will stand him in good stead to make the transition.

He is a player with all of the raw attributes that are needed to be an important player for Manchester United in the years to come.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Amad Diallo will not have to quarantine himself as he was a part of Atalanta’s Coivd-19 bubble. He has also become the first player to be signed in the UK after the new Brexit regulations.
