Angel Alarcon could be out for 3-4 months due to injury

Angel Alarcon, a Barcelona prodigy, could be out for three to four months owing to a muscular injury, according to Toni Juanmarti. The 18-year-old attacker came up through the club’s La Masia junior system and made his first-team debut under Xavi Hernandez earlier this season, coming on as a substitute against AD Ceuta in the Copa del Rey.

Barca youngster might be out of action for 3-4 months

Since then, Alarcon has played four more times for the Barcelona senior side and has been a reasonably consistent presence in Xavi’s matchday squad selections. Alarcon has been playing for the Juvenil A side while not playing for the senior team. And the 18-year-old striker just suffered an injury in one of these games. According to Juanmarti, the teenager will require surgery for his ailment. As a result Barcelona expects him to be out of action for three to four months. The La Liga leaders are said to be pleased with his development, so this injury comes as a blow at a time when he was beginning to see first-team action.

According to Juanmarti’s report, Alarcon has multiple offers to leave the club on loan during the summer transfer window. However, at this stage, his timeline’s rehabilitation may demand a loan exit. Alarcon just signed a new contract with Barcelona, committing his career to the club until 2025. Angel Alarcon has suffered his second serious injury, having missed the majority of 2021 due to a knee injury. And Barcelona will be praying that this does not become a regular pattern for a young prodigy with enormous potential.
