According to AS, Real Madrid and Arsenal could soon shake each other hands as the deal regarding Martin Odegaard reaches the final stages. The Gunners have been after the youngster the whole summer as they prioritized a number 10 signing. And finally, after so much patience Arsenal will be getting their target man Odegaard this summer.
The Norwegian is very popular among Arsenal fans after spending the second half of the last season at Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta was happy with Odegaard’s arrival in January and set upped the team around the youngster. Following which Odegaard appeared 20 times for the gunners and scored 2 goals and 2 assists. Arteta wanted to keep Odegaard for the next season but he returned back to Madrid for his new challenge.
As Real Madrid announced their new manager Carlo Ancelotti, the midfielder hoped to get more game time. But, Ancelotti seems to favour other midfielders rather than giving Odegaard a chance to prove himself. Following this issue, the youngster has demanded to leave this summer. And Arsenal are ready to grab this opportunity to sign their main target.
After failing to sign Odegaard a couple of times Arsenal targeted James Maddison and Houssem Aouar for the midfield. But they have dropped their plans regarding both players after knowing Odegaard is available this summer. Real Madrid are hoping to let go of Odegaard at a price of around €30-40 million.
According to the report, Odegaard has already agreed on a personal level with Arsenal to sign until 2026. While the youngster has been training alone for the past couple of days to avoid any injuries which can harm the deal. So, soon we can get an official confirmation about Odegaard joining Arsenal.
