Table toppers lock horns for youngster

Arsenal hopes in signing Barcelona forward Ferran Torres in the January transfer window. After moving out of Manchester City to the Catalans, Ferran didn’t get preference in the starting lineup. With Lewandowski and Raphinha’s arrival, Ferran Torres only featured for six starts in the league and one in the Champions League this season.

The Spanish international still scored 5 goals and 1 assist in 18 matches for the Blaugranas in 22-23. Despite very less game time he managed to maintain a decent stat. Ferran also scored 2 goals in 4 World Cup matches after eventually getting knocked out by Morocco. Even though Torres has a 4-and-a-half-year contract remaining, Arsenal is expected to go for the forward in 2023.

ARSENAL’S INTEREST IN FERRAN TORRES

According to reports, Arsenal is eyeing for Ferran Torres transfer this winter. Arteta and his side had their hopes crushed in the previous transfer window.

Journalist Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT:

“They really like Ferran Torres, and they clearly believe he might become available because they inquired about him in the summer as well. So, if they’re sniffing around him again now, they sense that something’s up.”

Since returning to Spain, Ferran managed an impressive 12 goals and 7 assists in 44 games for Barcelona. He previously scored 16 goals and 4 assists in 43 matches for Man City.

Ferran Torres could be a valuable asset to Arteta’s side and could be a pioneer in Arsenal’s attack. Arsenal has to make plans for their attack without Gabriel Jesus due to his injury. Martinelli who played as a left winger most of the time for Arsenal could be shifted to the central position. Currently, Arsenal has Eddie Nketiah as their only proper number nine and eyeing for a January transfer of Mykhaylo Mudryk.
