About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Indian Super League side ATK Mohun Bagan has reserved a place in the Group D of the AFC Cup 2021.

The Group D matches commence from May 14 at a yet-to-be-decided centralized venue.

Mohun Bagan held a direct entry slot in the AFC Group stage which they earned after winning the Hero I-League 2019. ATK even received a preliminary round two-slot as they finished second. But after their merger with Mohun Bagan, the slot was transferred to Bengaluru FC who finished third in the ISL 2019-20.

Bengaluru FC will be facing the winner of the qualifying play-off preliminary round. The match will feature the Nepal Army Club and Sri Lanka Police. While Abahani Dhaka of Bangladesh will take on the winner of Eagles from Maldives and Thimphu City from Bhutan. Both preliminary round two matches will take place on April 14.

The winners of the preliminary round two will take part in a play-off clash and the winner of that match will join the other three clubs in Group D.

After a single round-robin league, the winner of the Group stage will proceed to the knock-out stage.

The West Zonal Semi-finals will begin from September 13 with the second leg starting two weeks later.

The Zonal final involving South, Central, and East clubs will be played in two legs starting from August 11. Whereas the ASEAN single-legged Zonal final starts on August 25. The two-legged West Zonal Final takes place on October 20 and November 3.

The two-legged Inter-Zonal Semi-finals will take place on September 14-15 and 28-29. Likewise, the Inter-zonal Final initiates on October 20 and November 3.
