Barcelona held initial talks with Ousmane Dembele’s agent

According to several reports, Barcelona had some initial talks with the agent Ousmane Dembele regarding the player’s contract extension. The Frenchman’s current contract with the Catalans is set to end next summer and clubs want to offer him a contract extension. While as per reports, Barcelona might have proposed a two-year extension with a salary cut.

Ousmane Dembele joined Barcelona back in 2017 after showing some promising performances for Borussia Dortmund. Seeing his talent in the front the Catalans paid 110 million to secure his services. But little did they know the huge price they paid for the Frenchman will have a little return.

Since his debut, Dembele has appeared 118 times for Barcelona in which he scored 30 goals and 21 assists. While the Frenchman missed most of the matches suffering frequent injuries throughout his life at Barcelona. Currently, also he is sidelined until November after suffering an injury in the Euro 2020 campaign.

However, despite all of that Barcelona are still thinking of him as a part of their future plan by offering him a contract extension. Dembele’s current contract with the club ends next summer following which he will be a free agent. And it seems the Catalans might be ready to leave the Frenchman for free after paying a huge amount of 110 million.

Following this, Barcelona are willing to offer Ousmane Dembele a contract extension of two-year with a salary cut. The Frenchman has yet to sit formally discussing signing his new contract. However, his agent had an initial meeting with the Barcelona board as per reports. It is still unknown if Ousmane Dembele would like to continue at Barcelona next season, as Manchester United has shown interest in signing him.
