Bayern Munich targets a young left wing Nestory Irankunda

Bayern Munich appears to have discovered another youngster who has the potential to become a vital component of the first squad in the future. According to Bein Sports in Australia, Bayern Munich is close to finalising a deal to recruit Adelaide United’s Nestory Irankunda. The sum for the 17-year-old forward, including add-ons, will be substantial. Bayern Munich want to loan him back to Adelaide United for the upcoming season in order to boost his development. Die Roten’s technical director Marco Neppe regards Irankunda as a project player, similar to Alphonso Davies.

This season, Irankunda has been in excellent form with Adelaide United. For the Australian club, he primarily plays on the left wing. In the A-League, the teenager has eight goals for Adelaide United. He will play regularly in the first team next season before heading to Bayern Munich at the start of the 2024/25 season. When Davies joined from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, Bayern made sure he was immediately incorporated into the first team. When Irankunda arrives from Australia, the Bavarian club will most likely follow a similar strategy. There is a lot of competition in the broad areas, so Irankunda could have to wait for possibilities at Bayern.

Die Roten in search for striker and a new midfielder

Meanwhile, Die Roten’s urgent priority in the first team is the position of number nine. The Bavarian club might spend big money this summer to buy a striker to fill the vacuum left by Robert Lewandowski. After eight seasons in Bavaria, the Polish striker joined FC Barcelona last summer. In addition to a number nine, Rekordmeister may aim to sign a midfielder in the summer. According to reports, Thomas Tuchel is looking for a number six who is technically sound in possession. Chelsea’s Matteo Kovacic is certain to be a possible target for the Bavarian club. Die Roten will also have to make a choice on Joao Cancelo’s future. Manchester City has loaned out the Portuguese full-back. Bayern has the option to sign him permanently for €70 million. But if Tuchel wants him to continue in Bavaria, the club is anticipated to renegotiate a fee.
