Despite his recent upturn in form, Dani Ceballos’ future at Real Madrid has been uncertain for some time. The Spanish midfielder struggled for game time and consistency since joining the club in 2017. Now, it is unclear if he is part of the club’s plans for next season.

AS reports that Carlo Ancelotti expressed his desire to keep Dani Ceballos at Real Madrid and renew his contract. But the club is taking a more cautious approach and will not make any impulsive decisions regarding the midfielder’s future.

Despite his age and potential, Ceballos faces tough competition for a starting spot in Real Madrid’s midfield. As other players like Valverde, Tchouameni, and Camavinga have been performing well. Therefore, it remains to be seen if the club will decide to keep him for the long term or look for other options.

What does Ceballos think at the moment?

Ceballos said in an interview:

“I haven’t talked with Real Madrid about my extension. We have two interesting months ahead of us and I’m calm, it’s time to enjoy these two months.

“I would be making a mistake if I were to think about the extension, it’s time to enjoy football and take a step forward with Spain.”

Ceballos has featured in 21 games in La Liga this season, starting in 11 of them. He has provided two assists so far and has an average of 1.1 key passes per game.

It seems that the player’s future at Real Madrid will depend on his performance in the upcoming months, as he himself has expressed. If he manages to impress during the business end of the season, it could increase his chances of staying with the club for a longer period of time.
