Cesar Farias: The journey from ISL to Copa América

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Prior to the ISL 2015, NorthEast United appointed Cesar Farias as their new head coach. Cesar took the chance to revive the club after an unfortunate start in the League. The Guwahati-based club finished at the bottom of the table in the inaugural season of the Hero Indian Super League. Thus, the club wanted to improve the team performance.

At the ending of the 2015 season, the Venezuelan manager’s team finished 5th position, missing out on the playoffs spot on the last day of the ISL season. Cesar indeed improved the team after an unpleasant start by the Highlanders in the past.

Cesar then left ISL and the club and went on to coach in the Paraguayan professional league.

Point table ahead of Bolivia’s match against Chile

At present, the 48-year manager is the head coach of the Bolivia National team that is currently playing in the Group A of Copa América 2021.

Bolivia faced Paraguay on 15 June, unfortunately, lost by 3-0. In their next match on 19 June, they lost 1-0 to Chile. According to the latest point table, Argentina and Chile are the joint leaders while Bolivia is at the bottom of the table.

Cesar has also coached the Venezuela team. He has been managing teams since 1998 and has a strong managerial record in his name. Midway in his managerial career, he took NEUFC of the Indian Super League and strengthened the club at a critical time. And now he is managing a team that plays in Copa América 2021. His achievements as a tactician are unarguable.
