Chelsea still searching for a natural striker in the transfer market

Labeling a current Chelsea player as “an absolute goal machine” might seem peculiar. Especially considering that, until the last couple of games, Chelsea has been facing significant struggles in the goal-scoring department.

This trend persisted last season too. With Chelsea encountering difficulties in scoring consistently and lacking a definitive talisman upfront to consistently find the back of the net.

In the summer, they brought in Nicolas Jackson, who has recently stepped up by contributing some goals. However, concerns persisted until the last couple of games. That is about whether he is a natural goal-scorer and if Chelsea might require additional firepower upfront. The Blues will definitely like to have a player similar to or under the level of Haaland who can guarantee goals at any situation.

Chelsea to release Romelu Lukaku despite being a goal machine

Currently, there’s a goal-scoring machine out on loan in the form of Romelu Lukaku. However, there seems to be a mutual understanding that he may never don a Chelsea shirt again, and this sentiment appears justified.

Additionally, Glen Johnson, a former Chelsea player, holds the belief that Lukaku is simply not suitable for the Premier League.

Glen Johnson said: “Lukaku is an absolute goal machine, but I just don’t think he was right for the Premier League. He’s obviously so big and strong and a beast in front of goal. But sometimes the game would fly past him a bit.”
