Cristiano Ronaldo and Pochettino to swap clubs in the summer?

A recent report has suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo and Mauricio Pochettino are all set to swap clubs in the summer. Cristiano Ronaldo’s homecoming to the theatre of dreams has not gone as he would have liked.

Manchester United are currently struggling to get into the top 4 and have already been knocked out of the League Cup and the FA cup. The club has been trophyless since 2017 and Ronaldo’s arrival was expected to overturn United’s fortune. However, the club has struggled since his arrival.

It was a match made in heaven in the past, but time may have run its course. Failure to struggle for the Champions League may see Ronaldo leave United for Paris Saint Germain in the summer. Meanwhile, Pochettino has also been underwhelming for PSG. The Argentine has failed to win 4 out of a possible 6 trophies.

Having recently signed for PSG, he may well be on his way to Manchester United to replace Ralf Rangnick. There have been a lot of rumors around Zidane’s next managerial venture. Paris Saint Germain and the head coach of the French National team are two jobs that he likes.

The impending arrival of Zidane may attract Ronaldo towards a move for PSG. The duo achieved the UCL threepeat together and share a great friendship. PSG wants to replace the likely loss of Kylian Mbappe with 5 times Balon d’ Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo will be tempted to win trophies in another country. On the other hand, Pochettino is Sir Alex Ferguson’s preferred choice. A move to Manchester United may well be on the cards for the Argentine come summer. A big summer is expected soon.
