Defender Kunal Kundaikar joins FC Goa, signs a three-year deal

Former defender Kunal Kundaikar of Sporting Clube de Goa that competes in the Goa Premier League has inked a three-year deal with the Indian Super League club FC Goa. He won the Goa Premier League with his former club in his maiden season at the club.

He will join the first team of FC Goa in their preseason and if he impresses the Gaffer Juan Ferrando then he will be starred in the upcoming ISL.

The 22-year-old defender began his football journey at FC Nuera in 2014, he started with the U-18 team of the club. In his very first season with the club, he played as a winger. The youngster also played an inter-village tournament with Goa Velha Sports Club.

The following season Goa Velha Sports Club signed Kunal where he went on to play second-tier football in Goa (GFA first division). In 2016 Goa Premier League club Panjim Footballers signed him and the next two seasons at the Panjim Kunal established himself as a reliable defender at the club.

Sporting Clube de Goa signed the defender back in 2018 but soon loaned back to the Panjim Footballers for two seasons.

Kunal won the Reliance Cup playing for Fr. Agnel College, Pillar and the same year won another Taca de Goa title.

He moved to his parent club Sporting Clube de Goa in the 2020-21 season. His excellent performance for the Flaming Orange rewarded him as he lifted the Defender of the Season title last season.
