Dembele is in process of recovery from his recent thigh injury

Barcelona winger

Ousmane Dembele‘s thigh injury against Girona on January 28 sparked concern among Barcelona fans. As Dembele was going through one of his best spells as a Barcelona player, his injury came at the wrong time. Due to his left rectus femoris injury, Dembele might be out for close to five weeks.

Nearly two weeks after the Frenchman’s injury, SPORT’s Sergi Capdevila has provided an update on his recovery. Dembele’s recovery is proceeding as planned, according to the report.

When will Dembele return after recovery?

According to reports, he has been cycling to build strength in the affected area, working hard. The winger will begin working towards regaining full fitness next week. The first time he steps onto the pitch will be seen as a major victory, but he won’t be forced into high-intensity sessions right away.

Dembele himself is optimistic and lively. He has worked hard under the new staff at the club to improve his fitness and physical conditioning over the past year despite his injury history. Since Xavi took over management, this was Dembele’s first injury. With 28 goals and seven assists this season, the former Borussia Dortmund star has been impressive.

As a result, it appears unlikely that he will make it in time for the second leg against United in the UEFA Europa League playoffs. Dembele is expected to return for the Clasico against Real Madrid on March 19. If his recovery continues to progress well, he could return earlier.
