Dortmund to sign Donyell Malen in the coming days

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Borussia Dortmund have stepped up their pursuit of PSV’s Donyell Malen. Dortmund are serious about acquiring the attacker this summer.

Dutch media claim that an agreement between the two clubs is imminent. PSV Eindhoven will receive a transfer fee of around €25,000,000 to €28,000,000. They look to reach a suitable agreement in the coming days.

Liverpool have also been tracking the forward. Yet, they are out of the race for his signature. While the Reds focus on player sales to bring in money, Dortmund have gone shopping with the money from the Sancho sale.

Dortmund regard Malen as their top target to replace the outgoing Sancho. The Dutchman comes off an impressive season. He made 45 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 and assisting 10.

The 22 year old is primarily a central striker, but is capable of playing out wide on the wing. Joining Dortmund’s attack, he will feature alongside Halaand, Reus, Brandt and others.

Borussia Dortmund have come to an agreement on personal terms with Malen. However, negotiations for a transfer fee were proving to be a challenge. BVB are unwilling to meet PSV’s quotation of €30,000,000 and are looking for a work-around.

BVB want to complete the Malen transfer before heading out to their training camp in Switzerland on Friday. Nonetheless, it is left to be seen whether the deal can be completed by then.
